Medium voltage fuse cutouts or dropout fuses come in a range of voltages of 24kV-100A and 125kV BIL \u2013 8kA. There are three main versions: Normal insulation fuse cutout with porcelain insulator, Heavy insulation fuse cutout with porcelain insulator and finally Heavy insulation fuse cutout with HTV silicone rubber insulator.<\/p>\n
The venting type fuse cutout gives (provides) a full range voltage protection, with maximum of 24kV, of overhead electricity distribution systems even if applied to capacitors, cables, lines or transformers. Medium voltage fuse cutout is described by the term of \u2018\u2019full fault spectrum protection\u2019\u2019 which translates to interruption of all faults during the lowest and highest current, which will melt the fuse\u2019s link.
